Abstract

324,135. Catchpole, W., and Blake, J. W. Oct. 26, 1928. Endless-track vehicles. - A non- elastic detachable endless-track, particularlv for use on the two rear road wheels at either side of a six-wheeled vehicle, comprises traction treads 1, 2 connected together by longitudinal and transverse hinge pins 3, 6 respectively. The transverse pins 6 are connected together by means of links 5 having flared openings 7 to allow universal movement. The pivot 3 allows each tread or shoe to lie flat on the ground as shown at the right of Fig. 2 with a wheel 12 passing over the shoe, and also allows the shoe to fold when passing over the top of the wheel as shown at the left of Fig. 2. Projections 9 are formed on the shoe for engagement with the wheel and ground-engaging projections 10 are formed on the under side of the shoe.
