Abstract

256,796. Hawley, T. A. G. Aug. 27, 1925. Endless-track vehicles.-An emergency rubbercanvas or other flexible tread is adapted to fit over a general-purpose, flexible track 5 and to be readily attached and detached. The emer. gency tread may be formed with a saw-tooth ground-engaging surface, as shown, and its inner surface interlocks with the ground surface of the track 5. laterally as shown at 9. Fig. 4, and longitudinally as shown at 4, Fig. 5. The tread 1 may be endless or made in one length or several sections, the adjacent ends being provided with pins or bolts 11 on which connecting links 10, Fig. 1, may be threaded. The track 5 and the emergency tread 1 may be constructed with internal longitudinally-arranged inextensible wires.
