Abstract
247,888. Anderson, E., and Anderson, J. Nov. 16, 1925. Tread bands, projections, and surfaces.-The traction of vehicles particularly when travelling over snow, is increased by fitting a laterally-projecting tread ring 13, 14 at each side of the tyre 12, the rings being connected by flexible means such as chains 16, straddling the tyre, and transverse pins 27. The pins 27, which engage the inner periphery of the felloe 10, are passed through brackets 26 fixed to the rings 13, 14 and are fitted with springs 29 for maintaining the tension in the chains &c. 16. The rings 13, 14 are fitted with cross-strakes 18 and are formed in adjustably connected segments,
