Tread bands, projections, and surfaces. - A non-skid attachment consists of a series of members obliquely arranged across the tyre and each comprising a number of elongated blocks detachably strung on spaced cables 25. The end blocks of each member are formed in two parts which are clamped on the cables. The attachment consists of a ring 18 secured to the spokes. Preferably the two cables are formed of a single length doubled on itself, the loop carrying an eyebolt which is secured to the ring 18 by a nut 29, and the free ends being passed through a hole in the ring and clamped by a U-bolt 35, Fig. 6, coacting with a channel member 34.
