Tread bands. -A tyre gaiter comprises two (or more) chains C, C<1> of different lengths spaced apart by yokes L, L' and attached to the tyre a and rim R' by straps S, S<1>. To prevent creep, one of the gaiter straps is threaded through a loop A<1> of a strap A passed around the wheel-spoke R'. The shorter chain C is arranged in the forward direction of the wheel-travel.
