Tread bands, projections, and surfaces.- The tread of a tvre cover, or a separate tread band, of the kind described in the parent Specification comprising reinforced blocks projecting through a metal framing, comprises upstanding portions 3 projecting through a band formed of flexible circumferential cables 4 connected by transverse wires 5. Plates 9 of metal, wire-mesh, &c. are embedded' under the tread parts 3. Bosses 12 may be formed on the side-portions of the tread.
