Jackets and covers.- In a rubber band a for use between the air-tube c and cover b of a pneumatic tyre as a distancepiece and deflector to prevent puncture of the air-tube, and of the kind provided with rows of cavities d, the axes of the cavities are disposed approximately parallel to one another and to the general plane of the wheel, the cavities being separated by approximately parallel walls. The cavities are disposed in staggered relationship, Fig. 3, and their inner ends are preferably of tapering form. The base of the band may be secured to. or have embedded therein, a strip of canvas. The band, instead of being independent, may form part of the cover or of the inner tube.
