Abstract

165,128. Caddy, S. C. Jan. 12, 1920. Jackets and covers. -A reinforcing band built into the foundation of a tyre cover comprises strips 1 of flattened wire helices (intermeshed or otherwise) embedded in rubber 2 and interposed between fabric layers 3. 3x. The wire strips may extend transversely, obliquely, or circumferentiallv of the tyre. For heavy tyres, two such bands may be used, with the wire strips crossing. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 3854/11.
