Jackets and covers.-Flexible metal wires 16, 17 extending from bead to bead are embedded in rubber 10, the individual wires and layers being separated by the rubber. The ends of the wires are hooked over wire or other cores 14 in the edges of the tyre. The wires form the sole restraining elements, but short lengths of cotton yarn, waste or wool may be mixed with the rubber.
