Convention date, Dec. 8, 1928. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 108 (ii).] Various constructions are described to ensure that the axle and frame of the vehicle shall remain more or less parallel to one another when relative vertical movements take place due to the action of the springs. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, a transverse shaft a carried in bearings on the frame is provided with arms b at its ends which are connected to the axle d thus forming a rigid parallel motion connection. In a modification, Fig. 5, toothed racks h connected to the axle mesh with toothed wheels fixed on the ends of the transverse shaft a. The axle d and the frame c, Fig. 6, are connected by a flexible member o passing over a number of pulleys so as to ensure parallelism. Bell crank levers x, x<1> pivoted on the frame c, Fig. 9, are connected to one another and to the axle d by links. The bell-crank levers may be arranged on the axle. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 11, two pistons or toothed quadrants v<1>, v<2> meshing with one another and pivoted to the frame are connected by arms w<1>, w<2> to the axle.
