Abstract

Driving-chains with separate joint pins.- Transmission chains of the inverted-tooth type are provided with joints comprising a floating rivet 2 of non-circular section located between and engaging, with a rolling action, liners 3 carried by the respective links connected thereby. The line of contact 10 between the rivets and the liners is located within or below the pitch chord 11. Various configurations of the contact faces of the rivets and liners are described, all providing for a relative rolling movement on both sides of the rivets simultaneously as the links articulate.
