Abstract

313,249. Robertson, J. H. April 5, 1928. Endless-track vehicles. - An endless-track or non-skid chain for vehicles comprises a plurality of rigid shoe-members a each provided with engaging devices for flexible connectors having enlarged head l<1> at each end and made of multiply fabric or like material. Each connector may have an outer coating of rubber and an inner reinforcement of a metal plate or core l<2>. The track shoe comprises a base plate a formed with transverse ribs c, a plate k bolted to the base plate and formed with lower jaws k<1> for the heads of the connectors, and an upper part d formed with recesses and upper jaws j for the connector heads. The upper part d is bolted to the base plate, so as to grip the connectors, by bolts e. Adjustment of the jaws for pitch &c. is effected by altering the position of the plate k relatively to the member d. Teeth on the driving or idler sprockets g engage with part-cylindrical bosses f on the shoe members d.
