Abstract
599,129. Velocity-modulated tubes. SPERRY GYROSCOPE CO., Inc. July 1, 1942, No. 9107. Convention date, Oct. 31, 1941. [Class 39 (i)] The electrodes 24, 25, Fig. 1, which interact with the electron stream are coupled capacitatively through the envelope wall to cylinders 26, 27 connected to external cavity resonator 20. Electrode 25 is connected to drift tube 30. The resonator is tuned by a rotatable paddle 33 or by making one of the walls 21, 31 flexible. In a reflex tube the resonator 88, Fig. 2, can be slid off the envelope 89 as a whole ; flanges 93, 96 co-operate capacitatively with grid electrodes 91, 94. Specifications 523,712, 530,785, 552,459 and 8372/41, as open to inspection under Sect. 91, are referred to.
