Abstract

596,043. Testing pressure gauges. GRANT, C. R. A. July 16, 1945, No. 18175. [Class 106 (ii)] A pressure gauge testing - device of the differential type has the two pistons or plungers 10, 11 connected together at their adjacent ends by a flexible connection 12, which may be a flexible cable or wire or a universal joint, whereby small descrepancies in the alignment of the pistons will not affect the accuracy of the device. A tightly-fitting sleeve 13 encloses the connection 12 and serves as a spacer. The larger piston 10, carrying the support 14 for the loading weights, and the smaller piston 11, are arranged respectively in tubular elements 1, 3 screwed into a central element 2 to which the fluid pressure is applied at 8. Flanges 6, 7 of hexagonal form facilitate assembly of the device.
