726,485. Pressure gauges. CELANESE CORPORATION OF AMERICA. July 2, 1953 [July 3, 1952], No. 18361/53. Class 106(2). An apparatus for measuring the pressure of a fluid flowing through a pipe 11 comprises a cylinder 13 housing a closely-fitted piston 19 exposed to the fluid pressure, a rigid rod 26 extending between said piston 19 and a second piston 36, and a pressure gauge 43 connected to a liquid-filled chamber 41 on which said second piston is adapted to act. The rod 26 has rounded ends so as to make point-contact with the pistons 19 and 36. The apparatus is suitable for measuring the pressure on fluids that tend to solidify on cooling. The gauge 43 may be a Bourdon-type pressure gauge.
