Abstract

862,103. Dynamometers. KOPPERS G.m.b.H., H. June 18, 1957 [July 18, 1956], No. 19136/57. Class 106 (2). An hydraulic load indicator, connected between two coupling-parts 1, 2 transmitting a load, comprises a cylinder block 3 having a cylinder formed axially therein from one end, in which a piston 4 works and beyond which the piston projects to abut against a thrust member 23, secured by sleeve-pieces 24 to a ring 25 screwed to a head 26 of the coupling part 2, while the other coupling part 1 is secured to the cylinder-block 3 by claws 17 and a pressuregauge 16 connected to the working space 14 indicates the fluid pressure therein. The two hollow cylindrical pieces 24 interfit with two similar pieces 19 carrying the claws 17 to surround the cylinder block 3, Fig. 4, and the block has recesses 20 which interact with the claws 17 to form a bayonet-joint, which can be locked with a ring and screw 29, 28. A pull on the coupling-part 1 will produce a tension in the member connected to the part 2 which is indicated by the pressure-gauge 16 and vice versa. In a modification the coupling parts are adapted so that tension or thrust can be measured.
