Abstract
589,253. Wood - working machines. WOMERSLEY, H., and WOMERSLEY, J. K. Dec. 12, 1944, No. 24859. [Class 145 (i)] In a combined surfacing and thicknessing machine comprising an upper surfacing table B and a lower finishing or thicknessing table C and having a rotary cutter G common to both tables and one or more feed rollers M, P to feed the material on the table C, the cutter G and the feed rollers M, P are rotated in the same direction. The shaft F of the cutter G is driven by a belt J from a power shaft D and the shafts L, O of the rollers M, P are driven by a belt W from a sprocket S driven through reduction gearing from the shaft D. The table C and additional guide rollers Z on the table C may be vertically adjustable. The feed roller P is fluted or toothed.
