Abstract

649,408. Printing, creasing, and like machines. HARRISON, G., and THRISSELL ENGINEERING CO., Ltd. Sept. 17, 1948, No. 24437. [Class 100 (ii)] A driving-device for printing &c. machines is constructed to permit of the printing rollers 1, 2 being set at different distances apart for treating boards of different thicknesses. The roller 1 is mounted in fixed bearings and is driven by gears 3, 5, and the roller 2 is driven from the gear 5 by means of a gear 6 mounted on a shaft 7 in fixed bearings, the gear 6 having a driving connection with a disc 8 secured to the shaft of the roller 2 consisting of three pivoted links 9 connected to the gear 6 and the disc 8. The disc 8 and roller 2 are arranged eccentrically to the gear 6 and the driving connection is maintained for all positions of the roller 2 as determined by adjustment of the bearings 10 which may be effected by worm gearing. The links 9 are arranged so that the distance between the two pivot centres of each link is equal to the distance by which the axis of the disc 8 and roller 2 is offset from that of the driving-gear 6.
