Abstract

624,950. Sawing. CREASEY, A. E. July 16, 1947, No. 18924. [Class 145(ii)] A device for facilitating the feeding of a wood or other non-metallic work piece to a sawing machine such as a bandsaw, comprises the combination with a carrier a having a pair of relatively adjustable parts b, c, of a pair of steadies in the form of rollers k, between which the cutting blade can pass, and a pair of work-guiding rollers q respectively associated with the steadies so that either roller can co-operate with a pattern or template r whilst the workpiece is being fed to and past the saw blade, the axes of the rollers q being at right angles to those of the steadies. The steadies k preferably have convex surfaces and are mounted loosely on adjustable pins i, the outer ends of which pins carry further pins p on which the rollers q are freely rotatable.
