Abstract

548,577. Fur cropping machines. SELLERS & CO., (HUDDERSFIELD), Ltd., and SELLERS, E. R. July 9, 1941, No. 8633. [Class 76] In a fur cropping machine the furs are held by suction on an endless conveyer b and are fed past an endless band knife h travelling in a direction at right angles to the feed, a suction duct k being disposed over the cutting point to raise the fur and carry away the shorn off portions. The conveyer is mounted in a casing d in communication with a suction duct e and is adjustable by brackets g. The band knife h operates between guides i, i<SP>1</SP> and is held up to the work by adjustable supports j. Grinding wheels r are provided for sharpening.
