703,227. Machinery guards. FORTUNAWERKE SPEZIALMASCHINEN-FABRIK AKT.- GES. Sept. 9, 1952. No. 22592/52. Class 80 (4) [Also in Group VIII] In a leather-skiving machine comprising a cylindrical cutter 1, a presser bar 5 and a feed roller 14, the cutter is provided with a shield plate 2 disposed in an aperture of the machine housing so that it forms a continuous surface with the work table 13 formed by the top of the housing, the edge 6 of the shield plate extending in close proximity to the cutting edge of the cutter. The distance between the shield plate and the cutter increases slightly in the direction of rotation of the cutter. The shield plate is secured to the work table by means of screws 16 and is adjustable relative to the cutter by means of screws 12.
