[Class 145 (i)] A machine for tenoning and haunching the tenon of a piece of wood or other material during a single passage of the work-piece through the machine, is provided with separate rotary tenoning and haunching cutters, and means for turning the work-piece between the operation thereon of one cutter and that of the other. As shown in Fig. 1, the work 2 is clamped by hand-operated or pneumatic means in a cradle 3 carried by arms 7 fixed to a shaft 8 mounted in a slidable table 1. The shaft 8 also carries two arms 13 bearing rollers 15 engaging slots 16 in rails 17 which have a divergence 20 so that after the table has fed the work past tenoning cutters 10 the cradle is turned through 90 degrees before the work passes haunching cutters 11. Trimming saws may also be provided. Power-operated conveyer means may replace the cable 1. As shown in Fig. 3, the work 23 is fed between a conveyer member 21 provided with dogs 22 and a plate 27 past tenoning cutters 24 and is turned through 90 degrees by passing round a sprocket 26. It is then guided by plates 28, 29, 31 on to a conveyer member 33 which is driven at a slower speed than the member 21. A slide 37 is advanced against spring return action by a rotary trip arm 40 and the slide carries a spring-mounted pusher plate 43 which keeps the work-pieces 23 upright and feeds them into the grip of conveyer members 33, 34 which carry them past haunching cutters 25.
