Abstract
1300810 Woodworking tools; work benches G PIEMONT 30 Sept 1970 [3 Oct 1969] 46600/70 Headings B4X and B5L A machine tool comprises a working table 2, Fig. 2, and a carrier frame 6 located beneath the table 2 and swingable about an axis 7 parallel to the table 2. The frame supports two shafts 4, 5 parallel to the axis 7 and on opposite sides thereof. The shaft 4 is driven and shaft 5 is driven thereform, and each shaft is capable of carrying two tools, e.g. a circular saw 10 and morticing cutter 11 on shaft 4, Fig. 7, and a surfacing tool and vertical cutter on shaft 5. Means are provided for moving the frame 6 to bring a tool into its working position. As described, the frame 6 is swung by turning a handle 26 which drives a bar 19 threaded into a nut 20 on the frame. The bar and nut are pivotally connected to their respective supports. A table 16, Fig. 7, is pivoted about an axis 17 to the table 2 so that in one position it forms an extension of that table. In another position the table 16 is inclined to enable workpieces supported thereby to be sawn obliquely, and in the Fig. 7 position the table 16 is raised to expose the mortice cutter 11.
