Abstract

332,241. Haslam, W. H. April 16, 1929. Roller and roiler-and-breast mills.-In making fish meal or powder from fish offal &c. a grinder 8 is employed and consists of a pair of feeding and crushing rollers 30 geared together by gearing 31, one of the rollers having a sprocket wheel 32 driven from another sprocket. A pair of tearing, cutting, or mascerating rollers 33 formed of rotating spaced-apart circular knives or toothed discs are also provided and are connected by gearing 34 and driven by gearing 3'5 connected to one of rollers 30. Two or more pairs of the crushing rollers 30 and of the cutting rollers 33 may be included and arranged above each other. The rollers may be yieldably mounted in sliding spring-controlled bearings.
