583,460. Velocity - modulated tubes. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and GIBSON, W. T. Feb. 6, 1940, No. 2296. [Class 39 (i)] In a high-frequency oscillator using velocity modulation in a resonator, such as described in Specification 537,490, the output amplitude is modulated by variably deflecting the velocity modulated beam. Electrostatic deflector plates are placed between the two gaps in the resonator and a modulating potential is applied to the plates.
