Abstract

555,005. Velocity-modulated discharge tubes. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Jan. 23, 1942, No. 1013. Convention date, Jan. 28, 1941. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (v)] In a velocity-modulated electron discharge device a modulating potential is applied to the shield 7 surrounding the cathode. The device may be an oscillator or amplifier. Amplitude modulations may also be obtained by a loop in the first resonator.
