Abstract
574,501. Condensers. EMANUEL, M. Feb. 4, 1944, No. 2047. [Class 37] A condenser stack comprises superposed dielectric sheets metallised on both faces with the coating extending to opposite ends on the two faces, interleaved alternately with metal foils 49, 50 at the ends and held by a clamp comprising a base 60 of sheet insulation, approximately of the size of the stack area, bearing two metal terminal caps 55, 56, secured to the base, and bent to embrace the stack. The stack is assembled, preferably, in a recess 31 in a die 30, is compressed so that the interleaved foils are as shown in Fig. 4, is held in position by arms 51, 52 and has the foils bent over by the simultaneous movement inwards of sliding leaves 35. The foils 49, 50 are retained in position during assembly by cones 34 passing into apertures in the foils. Specifications 236,431, 336,579, [both in Class 37], and 524,657 are referred to.
