Abstract

759,026. Capacitors. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. June 28, 1954 [June 26, 1953], No. 17725/53. Class 37. In a wound capacitor comprising two main electrodes with an additional " blind " common electrode disposed between them, the common electrode has a greater width than the other two electrodes and the central longitudinal axes of the latter two electrodes are staggered with respect to the longitudinal axis of the common electrode. Thus, as shown, the electrodes 2, 3 are provided with tags 4, 5 and are disposed as shown on opposite sides of a common electrode 1, being separated therefrom by paper sheets. A margin of paper extends beyond the'edges of the electrodes and it is stated that by virtue of the arrangement of the electrodes the width of the margin required to withstand a predetermined working voltage is less than it need otherwise be. After the condenser is rolled it is provided with an outer paper wrapping, impregnated and then provided with an outer cover if desired.
