Abstract

558,688. Condensers. HUNT, Ltd., A. H., GROUSE, R. A., and ROGERS, J. July 13, 1942, No. 9731. [Class 37] [Also in Group VIII] In winding a condenser strips of metallized paper 19 each with an unmetallized margin along one edge, are wound together with the unmetallized edges lying alternately to one side or the other of the roll, the metallized edges projecting over the unmetallized edges to facilitate connection. The metallized edges are turned over outwards before winding by edge-turning guides 34 to expose metal on the sides of the roll as at 52, the two strips 19, 20 thus each having a metallic connection at each edge throughout the roll. The turned up edge is creased down flat at 51 at it passes round roller 33. Metal may be sprayed on the edges and connecting leads soldered thereto. Specification 558,687 is referred to.
