Abstract
659,433. Condensers. UNITED INSULATOR CO., Ltd., and ARMER, H. L. Feb. 18, 1949, No. 4537. [Classes 37 and 38 (i)] A capacitor comprises a stack 1 of mica blades 2 metal coated on each surface at 3, 4, the coatings each extending at 5, 6, over one end of the blade to form at each end a metal terminal surface to which is bonded a wire, foil, or gauze 10, 11 by metal deposited at each side of the wire 10. The extension of each metal surface on the opposite side of the mica blade is separated by an unmetallized strip 7 from the coating on that side, the stack 1 hence comprising two series of electrodes in parallel. The wires 10, 11 are looped through holes 8, 9 respectively in the stack 1, the part 13 of the wires being bonded to the metal terminal surfaces at each end of the stack 1, the ends 21 being soldered at 22 to leads 18. Insulating sheets as at 14, gripped by metal V-pieces 20, serve as end plates,
