[Class 37] A condenser, having foils so thin that they burn away around any point of puncture so as to be self-sealing, has at least one of the electrodes divided into several part capacities, connected to each other through resistances. Preferably the electrodes are formed by metallizing on the dielectric, the resistances being constituted by narrow metal strips 10 ... 14 of metallizing separated from the condenser coating 5 ... 9 by metal-free strips. Various arrangements are described. By suitably disposing the opposed coatings of the condenser laterally, the resistances may be placed so that they have no metallizing opposite to them, so that puncturing through weak places in the dielectric where they are situated is avoided.
