[Class 37] A condenser electrode, applied on at least one side of a single dielectric strip, is subdivided into a number of separate metal surfaces, connected each through a fuse strip to a common conductor. In the example shown, Fig. 3, the surfaces, with their fuse strips 15, and the common conductor running along one edge, are metallised on the dielectric so as to form a .continuous coating. The fuse strips may take various forms and lengths, such as short connecting links, or substantially the breadth of the strip as shown, or of intermediate sizes. They may be constricted at intervals. They may lie across the breadth or may be parallel with the edges. Each of the separate metal surfaces may be subdivided further, each sub. division having a fuse strip. By forming the separate metal surfaces as narrow strips 22 lying across the width of the condenser as in Fig. 6 each surface may constitute its own fuse strip. By folding over the edge of each metallized dielectric strip as shown in Fig. 8, the fuse strips, when longitudinal, may be made to lie in a zone out of the effective field of the condenser.
