Abstract

436,128. Condensers. SPORING, P. A., Lindsay Lodge, Park Road, Hampton Hill, Middlesex, and TELEGRAPH CONDENSER CO., Ltd., Wales Farm Road, North Acton, London. May 2, 1935, No. 13134. [Class 38 (ii)] To produce two branch capacities, which may be different or may be adapted to withstand different voltages, the two conducting sheets 1, 2, of a rolled condenser, are cut through at intervals and their cut edges separated so as to form relatively staggered gaps 5 .. 8 in the winding operation or separate strips similarly arranged are used to produce the same effect. By connecting leads to say A, B, C., two branch capacities from the lead A are formed, that to C being capable of withstanding a higher voltage than that to B. By interposing during winding, a further strip in the gap 6 for example, with an external lead, an additional capacity can be formed which will be connected only to A.
