556,797. Electropolishing metals. FARRER, J. O. (Aktiebolaget Industrimetoder.). Feb. 5, 1943, No. 1977. [Class 41] Metal articles, especially articles of stainless steel, are polished by anodic treatment in a bath containing a salt of a metal of lower electrolytic solution pressure than the metal of which the article is composed or mainly composed, for instance copper sulphate in the case of stainless steel, nickel, and other metals and alloys. The bath includes one or more mineral acids such as sulphuric and phosphoric acids; wetting and reducing agents and glycerine, glue &c. may be present.
