551,118. Multiple conduit couplings. SOC. D'INVENTIONS AERONAUTIQUES ET MECANIQUES S.I.A.M. Aug. 1, 1941, No. 9864. Convention date, Dec. 20, 1939. [Class 99 (i)] A coupling for readily connecting and disconnecting multiple conduits at one operation, for example, pneumatic or hydraulic controls of armament, landing-gear, pump installations &c., of aircraft, comprises a body 1 connected at o<SP>1</SP>, o<SP>2</SP> &c. to one set of conduits, and a plate 4 connected at a<SP>1</SP>, a<SP>2</SP> &c. to the opposed set of conduits to be coupled to the first, the two parts being held in the coupled position by a union nut 2 formed with segmental flanges 3a, 3b engaging over the edge of the plate 4 at 5c, 5d. Between these parts of the plate 4 there are provided segmental recesses 5a, 5b, so that by engagement of the flanges 3a, 3b with these recesses, the. nut 2 may be quickly placed over the parts 1, 4 and then given a quarter-turn to secure them together. The ends of the conduits attached to the plate 4 are formed with ferrules a<SP>1</SP> a<SP>2</SP> &c. which enter corresponding holes in the body 1, the ferrules being surrounded by packing-rings j. One of the ferrules and the corresponding hole are larger than the others, to ensure that the coupling-members are secured in the right position.
