Abstract

534,772. Pipe couplings. PARNALL AIRCRAFT, Ltd., SHERWEN, T., and LONSDALE, D. H. C. Aug. 12, 1939, No. 23337. [Class 99 (i)] In a coupling of the kind in which a deformable slotted sleeve 1 is compressed on to the pipe 12 by screwing a sleeve 7 over the sleeve 1 and into a socket 8, the slots in the sleeve 1 are dimensioned so as to prevent excessive compression of the pipe, and the sleeve 1 is arranged to bear against a jointing- ring 11, and formed with a flange 3 engaging a shoulder 4 on the socket so as to limit the axial compression of the ring 11.
