Abstract

718,829. Pipe joints. KAY & CO. (ENGINEERS), Ltd. Jan. 21, 1953 [Jan, 25, 1952], No. 2103/52. Class 99 (1). In a joint in which a coupling member 10 has at least two sockets 12 each for the reception of a pipe 11, and a sealing and securing ring 17 is compressed in the socket and around the pipe by a nut 15, the pipe being supported by a liner 20, the annular space between socket and liner is substantially cylindrical, and the liner is screwed into the socket from the open end thereof prior to insertion of the pipe. The sealing ring may have internal teeth 19 as described in Specifications 661,465, and 675,082. The liner may have a roughened surface 21a on to which the pipe is deformed at 22 and 23. Annular grooves may be provided in the liner at 22, 23.
