923,129. Joint-making packing. A. J. W. THOMAS. Dec. 7, 1959 [Feb. 3, 1959], No. 41465/59. Class 122 (3). [Also in Group XXVIII] A pipe joint sealing ring is made of rubber &c. and formed with integral circumferential ridges 3 and grooves 4. The ring is compressed between the male end 5a of one pipe 5 and the female end 6a of the other pipe 6 and, to facilitate insertion, it may be held on a reduced portion 8 of the pipe 5 before the latter is inserted in the end 6a.
