Abstract

534,407. Alloys; compositions containing metals. MALLORY METALLURGICAL. PRODUCTS, Ltd. (Mallory & Co., Inc., P.R.). Jan. 2, 1940, No. 125. [Class 82 (i)] [Also in Group V] Alloys or mixtures particularly for electric contacts consist of silver with 0.1-40 per cent. of nickel and 0.05-15 per cent. of magnesium, with or without up to 10 per cent of one or more of the elements boron, silicon and carbon, which may be in the form of graphite or lamp black. The alloys or mixtures may be made by melting, or preferably by pressing and sintering a mixture of the powders, with or without re-pressing and re-sintering.
