Abstract
534,163. Alloys. MALLORY METALLURGICAL PRODUCTS, Ltd., Jan. 2, 1940, No. 126. Convention date, May 20, 1939. [Class 82 (i)] Refractory compositions for electric contacts consist of 10-75 per cent. of tungsten, molybdenum, or their carbides, 0.05-5 per cent. of silicon, and the balance silver, with or without up to 10 per cent. of manganese. The materials may be made by pressing a mixture of the powders, or the refractory metals may be pressed and sintered and the product impregnated with an alloy of silver with 0.1-15 per cent. of silicon at 1100-1400 ‹C.
