Abstract
517,442. Alloys. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and SMITHELLS, C. J. July 27, 1938, No. 22392. [Class 82 (i)] Alloys having a density between 10 and 15 are made by pressing and sintering a mixture of powders of tungsten, molybdenum, nickel and copper, the nickel being in excess of the copper, and the sum of the nickel and copper being such that the pressed bodies do not lose their shape during sintering. An example consists of 62 per cent. of molybdenum, 28 per cent. of tungsten. 6 per cent. of nickel, and 4 per cent. of copper. Specifications 447,567 and 497,747 are referred to.
