Abstract
514,299. Alloys. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and SMITHELLS, C. J. Jan. 28, 1938, No. 2780. [Class 82(i)] Contacts for electric circuit breakers adapted to operate in air are made by sintering in a non-oxidising atmosphere a mixture of molybdenum, silver, and a third metal which may be iron or cobalt or preferably nickel. Examples consist of (a) 50 per cent. of molybdenum, 48 per cent. of silver, and 2 per cent. of nickel; (b) 90 per cent. of molybdenum, 5 per cent. of silver, and 5 per cent. of nickel. Specifications 335,081, [Class 82(i)], and 437,713 are referred to.
