Abstract
Titanium-base alloys contain 0.5 to less than 40 per cent Al and the balance Ti apart from impurities. Subject to a minimum Ti content of 50 per cent the alloys may also include one or more other elements, namely C up to 0.6 per cent; O up to 0.2 per cent; N up to 0.2 per cent; W 0.5-25 per cent; Fe 0.5-25 per cent; Si 0.25-3 per cent, the Si exceeding 1.5 per cent when present with Al and Ti alone; Be 0.1-2 per cent; Sb 0.5-18 per cent with Al 0.5-8 per cent; the Sb exceeding 5 per cent when present with Ti and Al alone or with Ti, Al and C alone; Mn 0.5-10 per cent with not over 0.1 per cent of C
