Abstract

In addition to the usual impurities, a Ti alloy contains 2-10 per cent Al, 1-10 per cent Mo, and 0.1-2 per cent Si, in each case there being a minimum of 80 per cent Ti. The Al may be replaced in part by one or more of 0-8 per cent Sn, 0-10 per cent Zr, 0.02-0.3 per cent O, or 0.02-0.2 per cent N; the Mo may be replaced in part by one or more of 0-10 per cent V, Cb or Ta; and the Si may be replaced in part by one or more of 0-4 per cent Cr, Mn or Fe, or 0-2 per cent B or Be. According to the Provisional Specification the Al, Mo and Si are not essential.
