Abstract
533,438. Screening and conveying apparatus. STRAIN, G. H. Aug. 8, 1939, No. 22836. [Class 117] [Also in Group XXX] A sieve 1 or conveyer is supported by adjustable hangers 16 and pivoted links 6 by which its inclination is adjusted, and is held up to a bar 2 by springs 3 connected respectively to the bar and links. The bar is reciprocated by an eccentric rod 12 at high speed and low amplitude, and the loose connection between it and the links causes percussive impact between striking blocks 18 on the links at the bar during each reciprocating period. The impacts are cushioned by resilient pads. The discharge end of the tray may be brought to a point and provided with diverging lateral wings to assist in spreading the material. The device may be used as an adjunct to the screening apparatus described in Specification 493,216.
