485,803. Reciprocating picks. COMPAGNIE DES CHARBONS ET BRIQUETTES DE BLANZY ET DE L'OUEST. April 10, 1937, No. 10294. Convention date, May 8, 1936. [Class 59] In a reciprocating pick machine the pivot joint 2 at the end of the pick beam 1 is adjustable along supports 3 by screws 4 which may act through springs. The pick heads 10 . . . 13 may be moved into different bolt holes along the beam or may be moved transversely of the beam by means of elongated bolt holes and wedges. The beam 1 is reciprocated by a connecting rod 5 from a crankshaft 22 and the perforated table 15 is supported on links 16, 17 and is guided vertically between posts 26. The table is oscillated by a link 28 pivoted to the table and to the beam, the latter connection being a slot 24 which may have a spring inserted therein. The oscillating motion of the table may be varied. by moving the point of connection of the links 16, 17 with the base 25 by means of screws 18 and the table may be spring-supported. The table may be actuated by cams which hold the table stationary during impact of the picks. A conveyer belt 27 under the table 15 removes the broken material. The picks 6 ... 9 are each provided with a flanged collar retained against the pick head between two perforated plates.
