Abstract

693,811. Sifting apparatus. JUSTRICH & CO. Nov. 5, 1951 [July 12, 1951], No. 25864/51. Class 117 A reciprocating brush for cleaning a sifting surface 1 comprises a brush stock 12 studded with two rows of bristles 15, 16, which are slightly inclined. The brush is mounted by means of a bearing pin 10 on two U-shaped guide members 8 which run on parallel guide rails 5, and cams 6 are attached to the sieve frame at each end of the rails. A stud 17 at the midpoint of the brush stock co-operates with the cams 6 to tilt the brush about its bearing 10 when it reaches each terminal position. A metal bar 19 mounted on the top of the brush stock increases the pressure on the bristles.
