Abstract

324,530. Mallott, H. H. Feb. 1, 1929. Rollers and roller heads.-The travelling clearing-band 5 of the top rollers of drawing-frames is moved intermittently, preferably in one direction only and, as shown, contrary to that of the movement of the rollers, by means of a ratchet and pawl mechanism 10 actuated from en eccentric 21 on the sliver guide shaft by means of links and levers and an arm 12, and the scraper 22 is reciprocated by arms 23 connected to the arm 12. The tension of the clearing-band is adjustable by means of a screw 15, and a weight 24 may be provided to press on the lower run.
