Abstract

532,133. Alloys. STEVENS, A. H. (Brush Beryllium Co.). July 22, 1939, No. 21337. [Classes 72 and 82 (i)] Copper alloys contain -2.05-6 per cent. of beryllium and 1.05-8 per cent. of nickel. Small amounts of iron, silicon. cobalt, zinc and aluminium may be present as impurities. The alloys may be made by melting copper and a copper-nickel alloy together, and adding thereto a copper beryllium alloy. Heat-treatment may comprise heating to about 830‹C., quenching, and re-heating to 300-350‹C., and hot or cold working may be interposed between the quenching and re-heating.
