Abstract

527,431. Liquid fuel burners. TODD OIL BURNERS, Ltd. March 28, 1939, Nos. 9666 and 9667. Convention dates, May 11, 1938 and Aug. 25, 1938. [Class 75 (i)] A regulable proportion of the atomized fuel discharged from a whirling chamber 24 in a plate 22 through an orifice 27 is withdrawn through a chamber 29 formed by recesses in the plate 22 and an end plate 28 having an atomizing orifice 30 coaxial with and having a diameter as large as the orifice 27. The chamber 29 communicates with the return fuel passage through holes 31, 32 formed in the plate 22 and the nozzle body 17, the edges of the holes 31 serving to retard the rotational speed of the fuel. The plates 22, 28 are secured to the nozzle body by a screwed cap 18. The lip 30a of the orifice 30 approaches the plane area encompassed by the annular inclined wall surface 22b of the plate 22.
